Is the campervan powered?

Yes! The Cosy Camper is powered by a 200-Watt solar panel as well as back-up batteries. That means there’s plenty of juice to charge your phone, laptop and other devices.

Can you show me how to use all the van’s features?

We will give you a thorough demonstration when you pick up the Cosy Camper in Brisbane. We also have lots of how-to videos and an in-car user manual. You’ll love the attention to detail in this luxury campervan.

Can I cook inside the Cosy Camper?

Unfortunately not. The Cosy Camper’s unique wooden interior will absorb odours, so cooking inside the van is strictly prohibited.

However, we provide a portable stove and camp table for outdoor cooking under the awning. Most caravan parks and campgrounds also offer cooking facilities.

Can I smoke in the Cosy Camper?

No. Smoking of any kind is prohibited inside the Cosy Camper. Smoking in the van will result in you losing your security deposit to cover cleaning fees.

How many kilometres am I allowed to drive?

Unlimited. You can drive as far as you want as long as you stay within a 400 km radius of Brisbane at all times.

Where can I camp overnight?

South East Queensland and Northern NSW offer a huge array of campgrounds, which are loosely divided into two types:

Caravan parks

Caravan parks usually have toilet and shower facilities, powered van sites, and recreational amenities such as swimming pools, games rooms or water-sports equipment. You generally don’t need to book ahead, although caravan parks in popular areas (like Byron Bay) tend to fill up quickly during peak periods. Most caravan parks cost less than $30 per vehicle per night.

National parks

Most national parks have areas dedicated to camping. These campsites generally have basic toilet and shower facilities, but rarely offer powered sites. There is usually a small fee.
While they can be rustic, national parks are a more natural and peaceful alternative to caravan parks.

What about roadside camping?

Camping on the side of the road is prohibited in most Australian towns and cities. However, it is generally allowed outside towns in country areas. We strongly recommend checking local council regulations to avoid a fine.

What is the minimum hire period?

The shortest period you can hire the Cosy Camper for a campervan holiday is two nights.

Why do I need to pay a security deposit?

A $1000 security deposit (or bond) is a requirement when hiring your Cosy Camper. This is a fairly standard requirement when renting a vehicle or hotel room.

The bond will be reserved on your credit card in case you incur additional costs during the rental period. These costs may include:

  • Repairing damage to the Cosy Camper
  • Insurance excess for an accident where you are at fault
  • The cost of refuelling if the Cosy Camper is not returned with a full tank
  • Replacing any items lost during the hire
  • Cleaning fees if the Cosy Camper is not returned in an acceptable state

What happens if I travel outside the 400km travel zone?

The Cosy Camper must stay within a 400 km radius of Brisbane at all times. If you accidentally drive out of this zone, you will notified by text message. Failure to return inside the 400 km zone without prior authorisation will result in you losing your insurance bond.

What do I need to bring with me?

The Cosy Camper has pretty much everything you need for a boutique camping getaway, including:

  • GPS navigation
  • Bose sound system
  • Designer bed linen
  • Bath towels and beach towels
  • Beach chairs, umbrella and beach toys
  • Cutlery and crockery
  • Coffee plunger
  • Grocery essentials: coffee, tea, milk, salt and pepper
  • Portable BBQ
  • 80-litre fridge
  • Portable clothesline
  • Folding table with two outdoor chairs
  • Inflatable air lounges
  • Board games

All you need to bring are your clothes, food and a device loaded up with your favourite tunes!

Do I need to pay for road tolls?

Nope! The Cosy Camper is fitted with an electronic toll tag, so all your road tolls are on us.

What happens if I get a ticket?

The cost of any parking tickets, speeding fines or other traffic infringements will be passed onto you, the hirer. Please obey the road rules at all times.

What should I do if I have an accident?

The first and most important thing is to call the police and/or ambulance if required.

Before you set off, download the Rentsure App on your phone and completethe Motor Vehicle Claim Section. Rentsure is the insurer for all Camplify insurance claims.

In the event of a potential claim you can notify Rentsure the Camplify insurer via this app.Go to the Claims & Photos screen. A Rentsure claims representative will receive your information and will notify you of the claims process.

You should:

  • Take all reasonable precautions to minimise the claim and prevent further loss, damage or liability
  • Do not make any statements or admission of liability
  • Advise the police if a theft, malicious damage or lost property has occurred andobtain a copy of report and event number as well as police station location and the
    officer’s details

What are your cancellation fees?

Cancel your booking 90 days or more before the rental period to receive a full refund.

Cancel between 89 and 30 days to receive a 50% refund.

Cancelling less than 30 days from the start of the rental period will result in loss of the entire booking charge.

What do I need to do before I return the Cosy Camper?

The Cosy Camper must be returned in the same condition you received it, so please clean it inside and out. You’ll also need to make sure the fuel tank is full before you drop the vehicle off.
